The popularity of socialism has collapsed, according to the Business Council's Eva value and attitude survey.
60 percent of Finns have a negative attitude towards socialism and 19 percent have a positive attitude. Support for socialism fell particularly among SDP supporters, and Green supporters now have a more positive attitude towards socialism than Democrats.
Only 28 percent of SDP supporters have a positive attitude towards socialism, compared to 59 percent before. 40 percent of Green supporters have a positive attitude towards socialism.
Only the majority of Left Alliance supporters (68 percent) consider socialism to be a positive thing.
The popularity of the market economy has grown among supporters of all major parties. 68 percent of Finns have a positive attitude towards it. 77 percent of men and 59 percent of women have a positive attitude towards the market economy. In contrast, 36 percent of Finns have a positive and 44 percent have a negative attitude towards capitalism.
